it's time to make some shifts.

THIS IS ABOut so Much More than MAKeUP

I live in Boston with my adventure-seeking husband and teen son. While they're out pursuing their extreme sports, I love meditation, singing in the top of my lungs to 90s on 9 on Sirius/XM in my car, and trying new beauty products and services.
This year I turned 43 and celebrated by attending Wanderlust. It was at this wellness and yoga festival that I made some huge shifts in how I live my life, pursue my passions, and take care of myself.
Instead of resigning myself to having already lived the best years of life, I realized that I'm just getting started.
I'm eating better, I'm better dressed (thanks Rent the Runway Unlimited!), and my confused skin is starting to become a little more predictable.
Do you feel like you're stuck in a beauty rut?
I've been there. Even though I was a proud VIB Rouge card carrying member, I just didn't feel like the results matched my investment.
Now, I'm saving money and my makeup has never looked better.

Timeline of a gen xer

my beauty journey

1980s

First started experimenting with makeup with Madonna and Cindy Lauper as examples.

1990s

Contrary to popular belief, dark lipliner with frosty lips, fully kohl-lined eyes, and cakey foundation were not our best looks, ladies.

2000

Work happy hours and the resulting hangovers meant falling asleep with makeup on and just trying to not look like a hot mess.

2004

My makeup looked amazing on my wedding day, even though it didn't have the staying power to outlast all the dancing.

2005

I became a mom and the glow from being blissfully exhausted was my beauty regimen.

Hello Social Media. I joined Twitter and Facebook in 2007 and would soon have an Apple iPhone. Followed by the abilities to take selfies.

2007

2016

I turned 40 and realized all those years I was supposed to "start" taking care of my skin had passed in a flash.

present

My skin and my makeup have never looked better. Meditation and focus on self-care definitely helps, too.
